Subcontractor Coordinator

Smith Construction is a well-established construction company based in Heckington, delivering multiple projects across the United Kingdom. We are looking for an organised and proactive Subcontractor Coordinator to join our busy team, supporting the contracts department and ensuring smooth delivery of our projects.

As Subcontractor Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing subcontractor relationships and ensuring works are planned, coordinated and delivered efficiently. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills. Occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan, order, coordinate and schedule subcontractors across multiple live projects

· Act as the point of contact between site teams, subcontractors, and management

· Ensure subcontractor documentation is up to date (RAMS, insurances, certifications, etc.)

· Track subcontractor availability, progress and performance

· Assist with onboarding new subcontractors and maintaining approved supplier lists

· Support Contract Coordinator with labour planning and short-term programming which concerns subcontractors’ works

· Resolve scheduling conflicts and respond quickly to changes on site

· Maintain accurate records and reports

About You

· Strong organisational and time-management skills

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

· Strong, confident phone manner.

· Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment

· Flexibility with work pressures and the ability to move between tasks where required

· Confident using Microsoft Office amongst other computer systems – specific training for certain applications will be provided

· Proactive, reliable and able to work independently

· Previous experience within a construction environment is desirable but not a requirement, as full training will be provided in the role.
