What they need

Your Role As the Subregional Construction Lead, you will be accountable for overseeing and coordinating construction activities across the subregion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Regional Head of Construction, you will play a key leadership role in driving consistent project execution, establishing best practices, strengthening governance, and partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful construction outcomes across multiple countries.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee construction projects across the subregion, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and business objectives.
  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture across all construction activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Manage and support Construction Managers, project teams, project controls resources, contractors, consultants, vendors, and other external partners to drive high performance and accountability.
  • Establish and maintain best practices, governance frameworks, project structures, roles and responsibilities, reporting processes, risk management standards, and approval criteria across construction projects.
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, cost controls, financial tracking, change requests, progress reporting, health and safety reporting, and escalation processes through the gating governance process.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, country teams, customers, vendors, general contractors, consultants, and trade partners to enable effective communication and project execution.
  • Identify project risks, challenges, and dependencies, and work with local project teams to develop mitigation plans and resolve issues as needed.
  • Drive quality assurance through site visits, inspections, reporting, corrective actions, and adherence to corporate quality and health and safety standards.
  • Support resource planning, recruitment, performance management, and development of internal staff, contingent workers, and external construction management resources across the geography.
  • Contribute as a senior member of the DE&C leadership team, including supporting business improvement, operational excellence initiatives, senior stakeholder meetings, and the adoption of standardised designs and documentation.

What You'll Need

  • 15+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably within data centres, mission-critical environments, or similarly complex technical infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong experience managing multi-country construction programmes, regional project structures, and diverse stakeholder groups in a multicultural environment.
  • Solid knowledge of project management methodologies, governance processes, cost control, risk management, reporting, KPIs, and continuous process improvement.
  • Experience with construction contract delivery methods, contract negotiations, change orders, vendor management, and working with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and trade partners.
  • Strong understanding of greenfield development, ground-up construction, retrofit projects, and local, regional, domestic, and international construction codes and health and safety requirements.
  • Experience with the design and deployment of technical electrical and mechanical systems; experience in data centres or similar environments would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, people management, influencing, communication, problem-solving, analytical, customer focus, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good digital competence and experience using key construction management tools, templates, tracking sheets, and reporting systems.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
