Substation / Power Distribution Design Engineer / Draughtsman

Role & responsibilities

• Good understanding of 33/11 kV substation and Power distribution systems

• Understanding of protection systems, relay coordination, and SCADA integration

• Hands-on experience in ETAP / Dig SILENT / AutoCAD / PLS-CADD

• Familiarity with IEC / IEEE standards

• Strong learning attitude and problem-solving ability

• Good communication and coordination skills

• Engineering & Design Responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering and design of 33/11 kV substations (AIS/GIS) and distribution systems.

• Review and validate the technical requirements of equipments and accessories according to the project requirements and Employer requirements and it should be cost effective.

• Prepare:

• Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

• General Arrangement (GA) drawings

• Cable layouts and schedules

• Control & Protection schematics

• Preparation of Bill of Materials and BOQ according to the design requirements.

• Carry out design calculations:

• Load calculations, voltage drop

• Short circuit studies (basic level)

• Protection scheme development

• Relay setting calculations

• Earthing & Lightning Protection

• Optional Job Profile

• Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site inspections, and commissioning activities.

• Coordinate with clients/consultants for design approvals and technical discussions, if required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Domain: Power Distribution / T&D EPC / 33/11 kV Substations / Utility Projects.
• BE / Dip - Electrical
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Design Engineer in Substation, Power distribution
• Strong knowledge of electrical drawings and engineering documentation
