Substation/Overhead Contact System Maintenance Intern

Guangdong Intercity O&M Sdn Bhd is the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) provider for the **West Section of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL)**​ — Malaysia's flagship 665 km rail infrastructure connecting Port Klang to Kelantan. Key Responsibilities Requirements

1. Under the guidance of an assigned mentor, assist with inspections and maintenance preparation for traction substations, power supply and distribution systems, and overhead contact system (OCS) equipment.
2. Assist with basic checks, data recording, checking tools and materials, and organising maintenance documentation.
3. Participate in training on electrical safety, equipment maintenance and railway work procedures, and learn the maintenance workflow.

Requirements

1. Currently pursuing a Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Rail Traction Power, Railway Electrification, Automation, Mechatronics or a related field, with expected graduation in 2027. An official internship confirmation letter from the institution is required.
2. Able to complete a continuous internship of 3-6 months.
3. Proactive and willing to learn, with the ability to follow site instructions and supervision.
4. Preferably at least 18 years old; no fear of heights; normal vision, hearing and colour vision.
