Substation/Overhead Contact System Maintenance Technician

Guangdong Intercity O&M Sdn Bhd is the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) provider for the **West Section of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL)**​ — Malaysia's flagship 665 km rail infrastructure connecting Port Klang to Kelantan. Key Responsibilities Requirements

1. Carry out inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs of traction substations, wayside power supply and distribution systems, and overhead contact system (OCS) equipment in accordance with maintenance plans and work procedures.
2. Perform equipment condition checks and basic testing; assist with fault diagnosis, emergency repairs and restoration of power supply.
3. Accurately complete maintenance, defect and test records, and manage tools, test instruments and spare parts.
4. Comply with railway work rules and electrical safety requirements; work shifts, night possessions/maintenance windows and at height when required.
5. Support other departments on maintenance-related matters, including service recovery and incident response.
6. Record and report daily work to the supervisor in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements.
7. Maintain a clean and orderly workplace before, during and after work in line with 5S practices.
8. Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with KTMB Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE) policies at all times.

Requirements

1. Certificate, SKM Level 3, Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Rail Traction Power, Railway Electrification, Automation, Mechatronics or a related field. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
2. Familiarity with OSHE requirements, high-voltage work safety procedures, PPE and 5S practices is preferred.
3. Willing and able to work shifts, at height and outdoors along the railway alignment, and to respond to emergency breakdowns.
4. No fear of heights; normal vision, hearing and colour vision; medically fit and able to pass the required medical examination.
5. Good written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English.
