Anticipated Start Date: Rolling

Masters Academy International

Masters Academy International (MAI) is New England’s only school that intentionally integrates pro-level coaching and top-tier academics to prepare future leaders, excelling in sport, scholarship, and life. At MAI, athletics are not an extracurricular add-on; they are a core pillar of student identity and future opportunity.

Our student athletes pursue ambitious goals and train with purpose. The athletic program at MAI is designed to develop exceptional competitors while also cultivating the character, habits, and mindset required for long-term success. We believe in doing things the right way: with excellence, integrity, and care for the whole student.

About the Role

As a Substitute Educator, you will ensure seamless continuity of learning and student care across grades 6–12 by stepping into classroom environments on a short-term or extended basis. You will execute established lesson plans, facilitate small-group and individual learning, and maintain an engaging, supportive environment that aligns with MAI's academic and athletic rigor.

Additionally, this position integrates potential coverage opportunities as a Residential House Parent. In this dual capacity, you may step in to provide supervision, guidance, and a supportive living environment for student-athletes within our residential facilities during evening, weekend, or overnight shifts. Whether in the classroom or the residence hall, you will serve as a reliable, compassionate presence dedicated to the holistic safety, well-being, and personal growth of our students.

What You Will Do

As a Substitute Educator with MAI, you will ensure instructional continuity for student-athletes in grades 6–12 by executing lesson plans, facilitating small-group learning, and guiding students through academic coursework and technology tools. In this flexible dual role, you may also step in as a Residential House Parent to oversee dormitory routines, evening study hours, and weekend activities. Whether in the classroom or the residence hall, you will foster a safe, disciplined, and supportive environment dedicated to the academic success, safety, and personal growth of our student-athletes.

Who You Are

You are an adaptable educator, tutor, or youth mentor who thrives in fast-paced middle and high school environments and is eager to support student-athletes in both the classroom and residential dorms. Guided by humility, courage, and sound judgment, you bring a strong sense of ownership to student well-being while actively seeking feedback, embracing collaboration, and committing to continuous personal growth. Above all, you are a compassionate role model who understands the unique demands facing student-athletes, balancing clear boundaries and accountability with the resilience and care needed to foster their success.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Youth Development, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience as a classroom teacher or substitute teacher; Prior experience in a boarding school and/or residential life facility preferred

Expertise: Proven experience leading middle and high school classrooms (grades 6–12), stepping seamlessly into diverse subject areas, executing pre-established lesson plans, and facilitating small-group learning; Demonstrated ability to manage, support, and mentor student-athletes in structured classroom settings as well as residential/boarding dorm environments.

Knowledge: Understanding of the unique schedules, academic workloads, and psychological demands faced by student-athletes balancing rigorous academics and athletics; Knowledge of positive behavior management techniques, dormitory safety protocols, and student-centered care practices that ensure a secure, inclusive, and disciplined environment.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary structure of this role is as follows:

$100 for half day academic coverage (8:00am-12:30pm or 1:00pm-5:30pm)

$200 for full day academic coverage (8:00am-5:30pm)

$25/hour for residence life coverage

$200 per shift in residence life if you are providing overnight coverage (7:00pm-8:00am) and/or weekend full day coverage (8:00am-7:00pm).

Please note that this position is not benefits eligible.
