Beansprouts Preschool is looking for a Substitute Preschool Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year!

Founded in 1980 in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Beansprouts offers preschool, after-school, and day camp programming and serves children from ages 2 to 9. SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Beansprouts is seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our preschool team for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in education to gain experience in the field and learn from a fun, creative, and supportive team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the head teacher with daily activities and as assigned
• Promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of preschool-aged children
• Monitor children's indoor/outdoor activities
• Respond to children's needs in a positive and courteous manner
• Participate in small group activities
• Engage in ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must possess a minimum of an Associate’s Degree: Early Childhood Education or a related field is strongly preferred!
• Must have at least two years of childcare experience in a an established childcare setting
• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills; and be team-oriented, nurturing, patient, and reliable.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which may include lifting children and year-round outdoor activities.

**As per Department of Health regulations, a background check and medical will be required for employment.

HOURS:

• "On Call " position
  • Our available shifts are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3 pm, or 3 pm to 6 pm
  • Flexible hours: we are happy to work around your schedule if you are not available for all those times!
