Substitute Teacher – Raising Stars Center Dedham and Norwood

Raising Stars Center in Dedham and Norwood is looking for caring, dependable, and flexible Substitute Teachers to join our on-call substitute team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and is looking for a flexible position in a warm and supportive childcare environment.

What You’ll Do

Substitute Teachers may work in our infant, toddler, or preschool classrooms, depending on where coverage is needed that day.

Responsibilities may include:

• Diapering, feeding, and assisting with toileting
• Following the classroom’s daily schedule and routines
• Conducting circle time
• Leading arts and crafts activities that are prepared for the day
• Supervising and engaging with children throughout the day
• Helping maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment

How the Substitute Position Works

Before joining our substitute list, all candidates must complete the Raising Stars Center hiring and onboarding process, including:

• Required fingerprinting and background checks
• EEC 12-hour training
• Required employment, health, and personnel paperwork

Once onboarding is complete, you will be added to our Substitute Teacher List, and we will contact you when coverage is needed.

This is an as-needed/on-call position, so weekly hours are not guaranteed. Some weeks we may not need substitute coverage, while other weeks we may need help for several days or many hours.
