Substitute Teaching Position

Reconnections Education Center is a therapeutic, relationship-based private school that supports students with diverse learning and developmental needs. We provide a low student-to-teacher ratio, integrated therapeutic services, and a collaborative team approach.

We are currently seeking flexible, reliable, and compassionate substitute teachers to join our team on an on-call basis, sometimes with same-day notice, to provide classroom coverage when regular staff are unavailable.

Responsibilities:

• Step into classroom settings to support or lead activities based on teacher plans
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
• Follow instructions left by lead teachers and communicate any important observations or concerns
• Adapt to a variety of student needs and support strategies guided by our therapeutic team
• Collaborate respectfully with other team members and classroom staff

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred)
• Experience working with children or in an educational setting strongly preferred
• Must be dependable, responsive to calls/texts for same-day availability, and comfortable stepping into classrooms last minute
• Background check and fingerprinting clearance required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Enjoys working with children of all abilities
• Available on short notice during the school day (typically between 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7 – 35 per week
