Sous Chef – The Limping Fox, Thames Ditton

We’re looking for a confident, reliable Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at The Limping Fox.

You’ll report directly to the owner, who is also the Head Chef. You’ll work alongside them to prepare and deliver our menu, maintain kitchen standards and help the team run a smooth service. On some shifts, you’ll be the sole chef on duty, so you’ll need to be comfortable managing prep, cooking and service independently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking dishes consistently to the Head Chef’s standards.
• Running the kitchen independently during agreed sole-chef shifts.
• Organising prep and managing service effectively during busy periods.
• Supporting junior kitchen staff when working together.
• Maintaining food hygiene, allergen and health and safety standards.
• Helping with stock control, deliveries and reducing waste.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience in a busy kitchen and is ready for a Sous Chef role.
• Can stay organised and maintain quality when working alone.
• Communicates well with the front-of-house team.
• Takes pride in clean, consistent food and a well-run kitchen.
• Has a sound understanding of food safety and allergen procedures.

This is a hands-on role with real responsibility and the opportunity to work closely with the owner/Head Chef. If you’re confident leading a service and enjoy being part of a local pub team, we’d love to hear from you.

Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 48.0 per week
