The Internship

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience through a combination of office-based and field project work. Depending on your skills and interests, you will contribute to meaningful projects that expose you to both the technical and practical aspects of the mechanical construction industry. This internship offers a salary of $20/per hour.

What You'll Own

• Drive new sales for the company in a professional manner consistent with the company's integrity and customer-care standards.
• Develop and execute sales plans to meet sales goals.
• Initiate and build trusting relationships with potential customers, respond to their needs and identify solutions, generate quotes and close orders.
• Develop, estimate, present and secure service maintenance agreements on equipment, controls, and systems.
• Create and submit estimates of work for service repairs and small projects.
• Manage service contracts, service calls, change-orders and submittals for small projects.
• Be responsive to customers' needs and work with other AMS disciplines to provide a complete pack of services to our customers.
• Work with Engineering staff to support construction projects.
• Apply classroom training and knowledge to develop an understanding of Mechanical Systems, using your developing skill set to support design, build, and installation processes.
• Collaborate closely with the engineering team on Design-Build projects to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Assist in managing project documentation and plans.
• Partner with estimating, design, and Project Management teams to gain exposure to the full spectrum of the mechanical construction process.

What You Bring

• College degree or equivalent work experience in the Mechanical or construction industry.
• 5 to 10 years of refrigeration industry sales experience.
• Extensive sales experience with proven successful relationship building and selling service contracts and repeat business, strongly preferred experience in refrigeration service or related industry.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written to varied levels of audiences.
• Ability to work independently, a self-starter who is both goal-oriented and customer-oriented.
• Demonstrated competency in closing deals through effective negotiations.
• Completion of at least 2 years in an accredited Engineering program (Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil, or Electrical).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Mathematical reasoning and attention to detail.
• Ability to work full-time (40+ hours per week) during the 10-week summer program.
