Summer R&D Internship, Product Development & Testing

About the role

Newline Group is a New Zealand-owned business specialising in the design, development, manufacture and supply of bathroom products and shower systems. This is a hands-on role where you will work alongside our product development and manufacturing teams on real commercial R&D projects. You will be building prototypes, running tests, analysing results and helping solve real product and manufacturing challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Developing and building product prototypes
• Running material, machinery and tooling trials
• Testing bonding, sealing, drainage and joining methods
• Recording and analysing test results
• Identifying product or process failure modes and testing possible solutions
• Working with our manufacturing and product teams to improve designs and processes
• Preparing clear technical records of testing, results and conclusions
• Presenting your findings and recommendations to the Newline team

About you

• Currently studying or recently graduated from engineering, product design, materials, manufacturing, science or a related technical field
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Able to record information accurately
• Willing to get involved in practical workshop and product testing work
• Must have studied or currently be studying at a New Zealand tertiary education institute at NZQA Level 6 to 10
• Recent graduates may qualify where their final semester finished less than 12 months ago
• Must be legally able to work in New Zealand
