MEP Superintendent - Data Center Construction

West Texas (site-based)

One of the fastest-growing owner-operators in US power and digital infrastructure is appointing an MEP Superintendent to represent the Owner in the field on a hyperscale data center campus in West Texas.

This is an owner-side seat, not a contractor one. You are not directing crews, you are holding the general contractor and the trade partners to the construction documents, and your signature is what says the work is right. The capital is committed, the pipeline is measured in gigawatts, and the programme runs for years rather than months.

The role

You will own field oversight of every mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection scope on the campus, from mobilization through start-up, integrated testing and turnover.

Day to day that means walking the installations against the drawings and specifications, logging deficiencies and driving them to closure, chairing coordination between trades before clashes become rework, and challenging sequencing where the programme is at risk. You will track MEP progress against the milestone schedule and feed the look-aheads, protect the long-lead equipment dates, and keep the daily record that supports the Owner's position on quality, safety and cost.

Through commissioning you will work alongside the commissioning agent and the operations team on test procedures, system validation, punch resolution and the handover documentation that closes the building out.

What we are looking for

• Field supervision background on mission-critical, industrial or large commercial construction, with data center delivery strongly preferred
• Substantial experience managing MEP installation in the field, gained with a general contractor, a trade contractor or on the owner's side
• Detailed working knowledge of electrical distribution, chilled water and air handling systems, controls and fire protection
• Command of integrated testing and the commissioning process through to turnover
• Fluent with drawings, specifications, submittals and model-based coordination
• The presence to hold a contractor to account and keep the relationship intact
