Full Job Description

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Superintendent to provide coordination, planning, and supervision for construction project activities. The Superintendent will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, craft workers, and project partners to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise daily construction activities on assigned projects.
• Plan and organize work activities, labor, equipment, and materials.
• Provide direction and support to Assistant Superintendents, subcontractors, and craft teams.
• Monitor project schedules and coordinate activities to maintain progress.
• Review plans, specifications, drawings, and project documentation.
• Coordinate subcontractor work and resolve field conflicts.
• Maintain high standards for jobsite safety and quality.
• Conduct jobsite meetings and communicate project requirements.
• Track project progress and communicate updates to project leadership.
• Identify potential schedule, quality, and safety issues and help develop solutions.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and project partners.
• Coach and mentor field personnel and support team development.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with company policies, contract requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Perform other construction-management duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction management or related experience for Superintendent I.
• Minimum 8 years of construction management or related experience for Superintendent II.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and field operations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple project activities and priorities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction-management systems.
• Professional attitude and strong customer-service skills.
• Ability to work effectively with subcontractors, craft workers, and project teams.
• Willingness to travel when required by project assignments.
