What they need

Superintendent I

This position is based in our Charlotte office.

As a Superintendent I, you're the leader on the ground — running construction projects from start to finish and making sure the work gets built safely, on schedule, on budget, and to the high standard Samet is known for. You'll lead the field team, coordinate trade partners, and keep owners, designers, and stakeholders aligned from the first day through closeout.

This is a role with real ownership. You set the tone on your site — for safety, for quality, and for how people treat one another — and you deliver it The Samet Way: with rigor, follow-through, and genuine care for the people behind the work. If you want to run your own job site and grow into the next generation of Samet field leadership, this is where you do it.

What You'll Do

  • Provide field oversight across all phases of your assigned construction projects.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, keeping the work proactive and on track.
  • Manage subcontractor performance and hold trade partners to Samet's standards.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation for clear coordination and effective site management.
  • Implement and execute Quality Control / Quality Assurance programs.
  • Promote an injury-free job site through daily safety leadership and our award-winning safety program.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, designers, subcontractors, and trade partners.
  • Ensure all site work is completed according to project plans and specifications.
  • Build client and internal-customer confidence by exceeding expectations, solving problems quickly, and following through on commitments.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience as a construction project superintendent.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (required).
  • Demonstrated mastery of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with project management software and tools.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to build trust and inspire confidence.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a passion for superior customer service.
  • Understanding of Lean Construction practices and LEED green building requirements (preferred).
  • Experience in one or more of our markets — commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or multi-family housing (preferred).
  • A demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
