Construction Superintendent

The Axel Group is currently working with a well-established general contractor that is looking to add an experienced Construction Superintendent to their team in the Boston area. The company has been in business for decades and has a strong pipeline of projects across multifamily, affordable housing, institutional, and commercial construction.

This is a hands-on role for a Superintendent who is comfortable running day-to-day field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and making sure projects are built safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project completion
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
• Maintain project schedules and coordinate upcoming activities with the project team
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to identify issues before they impact the work
• Conduct regular site meetings and communicate progress with the Project Manager and ownership team
• Manage quality control and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications
• Maintain a safe and organized jobsite and enforce company safety procedures
• Coordinate inspections, deliveries, site logistics, and other field activities
• Track project progress and communicate schedule or field issues to the project team
• Work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients throughout the project

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent
• Experience with ground-up construction
• Multifamily, affordable housing, institutional, commercial, or similar project experience
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and scheduling
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Strong subcontractor coordination and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining schedule and quality
• Procore experience is a plus
• OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training is preferred
