Superintendent

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects within the life sciences, healthcare, education, and technology sectors.

This position will be responsible for managing daily field operations, subcontractors, scheduling, safety, quality control, and project coordination from mobilization through final completion.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial tenant improvements, renovations, and technically complex construction projects, particularly within laboratories, medical facilities, educational campuses, and technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily field operations for commercial construction projects from mobilization through closeout.
• Coordinate subcontractors, manpower, equipment, materials, and deliveries.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules, look-ahead schedules, and project milestones.
• Oversee commercial tenant improvements, renovations, and specialized build-outs.
• Coordinate complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and specialty systems.
• Manage construction activities within occupied facilities and operational environments.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Identify constructability issues and coordinate solutions with Project Managers, architects, and engineers.
• Conduct subcontractor meetings and coordinate daily construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and project quality standards.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, equipment startup, and commissioning activities.
• Manage phased construction, shutdowns, site logistics, and accelerated schedules.
• Maintain daily reports, progress updates, and field documentation.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and proactively address scheduling or quality concerns.
• Oversee punch lists, final inspections, and project turnover.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction field experience, including Superintendent or field leadership responsibilities.
• Strong experience with commercial tenant improvements, renovations, or specialized construction projects.
• Experience within life sciences, healthcare, education, technology, or similar technically complex commercial environments.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
• Experience managing fast-track schedules and multiple construction trades.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Experience working in occupied buildings or operational facilities.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety, quality control, and inspection requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with laboratories, cleanrooms, pharmaceutical facilities, medical offices, hospitals, universities, or technology campuses.
• Experience with high-end commercial tenant improvements and specialized interior build-outs.
• Familiarity with laboratory infrastructure, specialty piping, process utilities, HVAC, and building automation systems.
• Experience with phased construction, infection control, contamination control, or sensitive operating environments.
• Knowledge of commissioning, equipment installation, and complex MEP coordination.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience managing Assistant Superintendents and field personnel.
