Position Overview

The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing daily field operations on ground-up commercial construction projects throughout the Greater Houston area. This individual will lead subcontractors, coordinate construction activities, maintain project schedules, and ensure work is completed safely and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ground-up commercial construction, preferably with experience building municipal facilities, churches, worship centers, or other religious and community-oriented projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily field operations from site mobilization through substantial completion and closeout.
• Manage subcontractors, field personnel, and construction activities to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, architects, engineers, owners, and trade partners.
• Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules while proactively addressing potential delays.
• Enforce jobsite safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and productive construction environment.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower, material deliveries, and workmanship.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure proper execution.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate project progress to management.
• Identify and resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and scheduling challenges.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, inspections, and quality-control documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a commercial general contractor.
• Demonstrated experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects from start to finish.
• Municipal, religious, church, or worship facility construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience overseeing projects involving structural steel, concrete, MEP systems, and complex building finishes.
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
• Proven ability to lead field teams while maintaining positive relationships with owners and subcontractors.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and other construction management platforms preferred.
• Ability to work on projects throughout the Greater Houston area.
