Superintendent, Electrical

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Electrical & Automation Management

• Manage and oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, automation, and electronic systems across the fleet.
• Provide technical guidance to vessel crews on power generation, distribution systems, automation controls, PLCs, and marine electrical equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement preventive maintenance strategies to improve reliability and minimize downtime.

Dry Docking, Surveys & Major Projects

• Prepare technical specifications, work scopes, budgets, and procurement requirements for electrical and automation works during dry dockings, major overhauls, and class surveys.
• Supervise contractors, vendors, and shipyard activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with class, flag state, statutory, and industry requirements.

Emergency Response & Technical Support

• Provide prompt technical support for electrical and electronic system failures across the fleet.
• Coordinate troubleshooting and corrective actions for critical equipment breakdowns, including onboard attendance when necessary.
• Support vessels during port calls, anchorages, and emergencies to minimize operational disruptions and vessel off-hire risks.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Marine Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 7-8 years of relevant experience in marine electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in HV/LV switchboards, PLCs, Power Management Systems, reefer monitoring systems, bridge navigation equipment, and class survey requirements.
• Good understanding of marine electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Possess own transportation and willing to travel locally and overseas when required.
