Superintendent (High-Rise) Position Overview We are seeking a seasoned Superintendent (High-Rise) to lead and deliver complex vertical construction projects from ground-up through closeout. The Superintendent will be responsible for on-site leadership, safety, schedule and quality control, coordination of subcontractors and trades, and active communication with field teams and project stakeholders. Ideal candidates have significant high-rise experience, familiarity with industrial and commercial work, and strong safety credentials (OSHA 30 preferred).

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily on-site operations for high-rise construction projects, ensuring work progresses on schedule and within quality standards.
• Develop, maintain and execute site-specific schedules; coordinate sequencing with subcontractors and trades to optimize productivity and handoffs.
• Lead safety program implementation and enforcement on site, conduct daily safety briefings, and maintain compliance with OSHA, local codes and company safety policies.
• Supervise, mentor and manage field personnel and subcontractors; monitor productivity, workmanship and adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate logistics for materials, equipment, hoisting, site access and laydown areas in constrained urban environments.
• Conduct regular site inspections, prepare daily reports, RFI tracking, and document field conditions; maintain accurate as-built records.
• Collaborate with project management, engineers and design teams to resolve technical issues and implement design changes in the field.
• Manage quality control processes, coordinate testing and inspections, and ensure punchlist items are resolved prior to turnover.
• Control project site costs by monitoring labor and equipment usage and supporting change order documentation and tracking.
• Lead commissioning, closeout and owner turnover activities, ensure all project documentation, warranties and O&M manuals are complete and accurate.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of superintendent experience on high-rise or vertical construction projects; proven track record delivering ground-up buildings in urban settings.
• Demonstrated experience with industrial or commercial scope components preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred; strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and site safety best practices required.
• Proficient reading and interpreting construction documents, structural drawings, and specifications.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors, site logistics, hoisting/crane operations and material coordination on high-rise sites.
• Familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project or equivalent) and construction documentation tools (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam etc.).
• Strong leadership, communication and conflict-resolution skills; ability to build productive relationships with owners, architects and trades.
• Able to produce clear daily reports and maintain accurate site documentation.
• Valid drivers license; ability to work in physically demanding environments and at height.
• Construction management degree, trade background, or equivalent combination of education and field experience; additional certifications (First Aid/CPR, NCCER, LEED or BIM experience) a plus.
