Superintendent, Structural Concrete & Masonry

JHM Construction is looking for an experienced Superintendent to oversee the field side of our structural concrete and masonry projects in Sarasota and Southwest Florida. You will work side by side with our on-site foreman and our Project Manager, and you will help monitor several projects running at the same time.

This is a hands-on, in-the-field role. You will spend your days moving between active jobsites, supporting foremen and crews, checking quality and progress, and keeping each project safe, on schedule, and built right.

JHM performs commercial and high-end residential work. We self-perform and subcontract structural concrete and masonry scopes, including foundations, cast-in-place concrete, elevated structural concrete, CMU masonry, and related structural work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field operations across multiple structural concrete and masonry projects at once
• Work with the on-site foreman and Project Manager to keep every job staffed, supplied, and on schedule
• Visit active jobsites regularly to check progress, quality, safety, and manpower, and step in where help is needed
• Direct and support JHM field crews and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors
• Help plan and coordinate manpower, material deliveries, concrete pours, pumps, testing, and required inspections across jobs
• Verify layout, formwork, rebar, pours, finishing, and CMU work meet plans and specs
• Catch problems early, before they affect schedule or cost
• Enforce jobsite safety, support toolbox talks, and keep sites clean and organized
• Make sure daily logs, employee time sheets, manpower counts, and jobsite photos are completed accurately every day on each project
• Report field conditions, progress, delays, and extra work to the Project Manager so RFIs, change orders, and billing stay accurate
• Communicate with general contractors, owners, architects, and engineers on site as needed
• Mentor foremen and field leaders

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field supervision experience in structural concrete, masonry, or closely related construction
• Experience overseeing more than one jobsite at a time is preferred
• Strong knowledge of foundations, cast-in-place concrete, and CMU construction. Elevated slab and formwork experience is a plus
• Able to read and work from structural drawings and specs
• Proven ability to lead crews and manage subcontractors
• Organized and disciplined with daily logs, time sheets, and field documentation
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements. OSHA 30 preferred
• Experience with Procore or similar field tools is preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable ability to travel between jobsites throughout Sarasota and Southwest Florida
• Comfortable working on active jobsites in Florida weather
