About the Role

Complete Care Pharmacy, Clonsilla is seeking an experienced and motivated Supervising Pharmacist to lead our dispensary and become a key part of our management team.

This is a senior position suited to a pharmacist with strong experience in Irish community pharmacy who is confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a busy dispensary.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Pharmacy Manager, pharmacy dispenser and OTC team to maintain high standards of patient care, compliance and operational performance.

We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and confident leading a team while maintaining an efficient and professional dispensary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the professional and day-to-day operation of the dispensary
  • Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with PSI requirements and Irish pharmacy legislation
  • Dispense and clinically check prescriptions accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain excellent standards of patient care and professional advice
  • Oversee dispensary workflow and support pharmacy technicians and other team members
  • Maintain appropriate SOPs, records and compliance documentation
  • Ensure all pharmacy schemes and claims are processed correctly and efficiently
  • Maintain strong knowledge of PCRS claims, GMS, DPS, LTI, High Tech and other Irish pharmacy schemes
  • Identify and resolve claim issues, rejected claims and administrative discrepancies
  • Support stock management, ordering, expiry control and appropriate stock levels
  • Deliver and develop pharmacy services
  • Work closely with management on the continued development and growth of the pharmacy
  • Support, train and develop the wider pharmacy team
  • Maintain a professional, positive and patient-focused environment

Essential Requirements

  • Currently registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a pharmacist in Irish community pharmacy
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish pharmacy schemes and PCRS claims
  • Confident managing the day-to-day operation of a dispensary
  • Strong knowledge of PSI requirements and pharmacy compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead and support a pharmacy team
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with pharmacy management

Desirable

Vaccination training would be a significant advantage, particularly for flu, COVID-19 and shingles vaccination services.

However, vaccination training is preferred rather than essential, and we would still welcome applications from experienced pharmacists who otherwise meet the requirements of the role.

What We Offer

  • Full-time permanent position – 44 hours per week
  • 9:00am–7:00pm working hours
  • No Sundays (Dec only)
  • Closed Bank Holidays
  • 20 days annual leave
  • Staff discount
  • Store incentive programmes
  • Yearly performance bonus
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Established and supportive pharmacy team
  • Opportunity to lead and develop the dispensary
  • Support for continued professional and clinical development

We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership of the dispensary, build strong relationships with our patients and team, and play an important role in the continued development of Complete Care Pharmacy, Clonsilla.
