Duties

• Lead and manage pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, to ensure smooth daily operations and high-quality patient service
• Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and aseptic techniques for IV infusions and sterile preparations
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, including USP 797 standards for sterile compounding and HIPAA confidentiality policies
• Conduct patient assessments to support clinical decision-making, medication therapy management, and pain or acute care management
• Implement and monitor pharmacy operations using Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), and other healthcare software tools
• Maintain inventory control, including drug regulation adherence, stock management, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals in accordance with regulatory guidelines
• Facilitate immunization programs, patient education initiatives, and client communication to promote health literacy and community outreach
• Ensure all pharmacy activities adhere to healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) regulations, and practicing as a licensed pharmacist
• Support clinical activities involving physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, drug administration protocols, and medical terminology to optimize patient care

Experience

• Proven experience practicing as a licensed pharmacist with a strong background in clinical pharmacy settings such as hospital or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy environments
• Critical care experience with skills in patient assessment, medication management, pain management, and acute care procedures
• Demonstrated leadership in managing pharmacy teams within community or hospital settings; experience with managing pharmacy operations is essential
• Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems (PIS), EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR systems, inventory management tools, and aseptic technique procedures
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulatory compliance including USP 797 standards for sterile compounding and drug regulation laws at both state and federal levels
• Additional qualifications include pharmacy residency training, basic life support certification, immunizations certification, and knowledge of healthcare compliance policies
• Prior experience in managing IV insertions/infusion protocols or hospital-based pharmacy services is highly desirable

Salary may vary

Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
