In this role, you will be the linchpin between strategic objectives and daily execution. You will be responsible for overseeing daily transaction processing, ensuring strict adherence to financial regulations, optimizing workflows, and cultivating a high-performing team. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who balances operational efficiency with risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of financial operations staff, managing daily workloads, shift schedules, and task delegation to ensure zero downtime.
- Conduct 1-on-1s, monthly performance reviews, and implement targeted coaching plans to upskill team members.
- Monitor daily volume spikes (e.g., month-end close, market volatility) and dynamically reallocate team resources to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of financial transactions ensuring 99.9% accuracy.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement methodologies to reduce processing time and eliminate manual redundancies.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for complex client issues, system outages, or transaction failures, driving them to resolution within 24 hours.
- Implement and oversee a robust QA framework, conducting random audits of team output to minimize financial risk and operational errors.
- Generate weekly and monthly operational reports detailing SLA adherence, error rates, and team productivity for senior management.
- Partner with Project Managers and IT to roll out new financial software, system upgrades, or automated workflows, acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the operations team.
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in financial services operations (e.g., banking, asset management, fintech, or brokerage).
- 1–2 years of direct supervisory or team lead experience.
- Deep understanding of financial regulatory frameworks (AML, KYC, SOX, etc.).
- Proficiency in financial ERPs, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, Macros).
- Experience with workflow management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, or ServiceNow).
- Ability to make rapid, risk-assessed decisions in a fast-paced financial environment.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex financial/operational jargon into clear instructions for the team and concise updates for leadership.
- Proven ability to maintain team morale and operational output during high-stress periods (e.g., audits, market crashes, system migrations).
