Barista Supervisor

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Supervisor to lead our café team, run shifts smoothly and plan events that bring customers in. Training is at the heart of this role: you'll build a skilled, confident team and keep standards high.

Supervisory Duties

• Lead and supervise baristas and kitchen staff, making sure tasks are done properly and on time
• Monitor punctuality, attendance and performance
• Create staff rotas and manage holidays and absence cover
• Keep records of staff hours and leave
• Report to the manager on team performance

Training & Development (Key Part of the Role)

• Plan and deliver weekly training sessions for all staff
• Train and induct new starters
• Give regular feedback and track each team member's progress
• Create training materials, recipe guides and procedures

Events & Menu

• Plan, organise and lead café events (tastings, themed days, community nights)
• Brief and coordinate staff during events
• Develop new drinks and menu ideas, and suggest service improvements

Operations & Customers

• Handle customer complaints calmly and professionally
• Enforce food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards
• Manage stock and run opening and closing procedures
• Work regular shifts, including weekends and holidays

What We're Looking For

• Proven supervisory experience in café or hospitality
• Strong training and coaching skills
• Event planning experience (preferred)
• Good organisation and rota-planning skills
• Barista experience
• Food hygiene certificate (preferred)
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
