Toast & Timber is an independent, bustling brunch house and coffee shop in the heart of Abergavenny. We’re passionate about great food, exceptional coffee and creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps our customers coming back.

We’re a growing business with a hardworking, close-knit team, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Front of House Supervisor to join us.

The Role

We’re looking for someone who leads by example, thrives in a busy hospitality environment and genuinely enjoys delivering excellent customer service.

You’ll work closely with our management team to ensure the smooth running of daily operations, maintain our high standards and help create a positive, motivated team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the front of house team during busy services.
• Deliver consistently excellent customer service.
• Oversee daily operations and ensure service runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Train, motivate and develop team members.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation.
• Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues professionally.
• Support management with opening and closing procedures, cash handling and daily checks.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure great communication and a seamless guest experience.
• Take ownership of shifts and confidently make decisions when required.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous supervisory or team leader experience within hospitality is preferred.
• A confident, approachable and hands-on leadership style.
• A genuine passion for hospitality, food and coffee.
• Barista & bar experience.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to remain calm, positive and organised under pressure.
• Someone proactive who takes initiative and has a great eye for detail.
• Flexibility to work weekends and busy periods.
• Most importantly, someone who cares about the little details and takes pride in what they do.
