Job Role

The Omexom Taylor Woodrow Joint Venture (TW JV) is delivering critical infrastructure as part of the Great Grid Partnership, a major programme designed to strengthen and enhance the UK's electricity transmission network.

We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor / Utilities Coordinator to join our delivery team and take ownership of utility-related activities across the project. This role will be focused on coordinating utility providers, diversion works, surveys, permits, and stakeholder interfaces to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of project works.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Utilities Coordinator, however we would also welcome applications from Utilities Supervisors, Streetworks Supervisors, or Site Supervisors with strong utility coordination experience who are looking to progress their careers within a major infrastructure environment.

The Role

As a Site Supervisor / Utilities Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all utility-related activities associated with the project. Acting as the key interface between utility companies, subcontractors, project teams, and stakeholders, you will ensure utility diversions, asset protection works, and service-related activities are planned, coordinated, and delivered safely and in line with programme requirements.

You will play a vital role in identifying utility constraints, managing risks associated with existing services, and ensuring that utility-related works do not impact the successful delivery of the wider project.

Duties

  • Coordinate and oversee utility diversions, protection works, and service connections across the project.
  • Liaise with statutory undertakers, utility providers, local authorities, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure utility works are planned, programmed, and delivered in accordance with project requirements.
  • Manage permits, streetworks requirements, and utility-related approvals.
  • Supervise utility contractors and subcontractors on site.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved RAMS and project procedures.
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
  • Monitor progress against programme and proactively resolve utility-related issues and clashes.
  • Maintain accurate records of utility information, permits, inspections, and stakeholder communications.
  • Support engineering and delivery teams with utility surveys, service avoidance activities, and coordination planning.
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications and utility company requirements.
  • Assist with identifying and mitigating risks associated with existing underground and overhead services.

Person Specification

  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid at Work
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Previous Utilities Coordinator experience on major infrastructure, power transmission, highways, rail, or civil engineering projects.
  • National Grid, power transmission, substation, or utility infrastructure experience.
  • NRSWA Supervisor accreditation.
  • CAT & Genny competency.
  • Experience managing utility diversions and stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of PAS128 utility surveys and buried services management.
  • Experience working within alliance or joint venture environments.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time - 40 hours - Monday to Friday
