Supervisor - Distribution Centre

Distribution Centre Supervisor – Waikouaiti / Dunedin

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Distribution Centre Supervisor to lead day-to-day warehouse and dispatch operations within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Waikouaiti Operations Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing the efficient running of the distribution centre, including customer order picking, dispatch, inventory control, and transport coordination across the wider depot network. The role leads a team of approximately 14 staff including administrators, pickers, forklift operators, and truck drivers.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead daily warehouse, dispatch, and transport operations
• Drive team performance, productivity, DIFOT, and pick accuracy targets
• Coordinate truck loading, dispatch, and long-haul transfers
• Manage rostering, workflow planning, and operational priorities
• Maintain high standards across food safety, MPI, HACCP, quality, and health & safety compliance
• Support audits, SOP management, stocktakes, and inventory accuracy
• Analyse warehouse performance data and identify opportunities for operational improvement
• Build a strong team culture focused on accountability, communication, and continuous improvement

About you:

• Proven leadership experience within warehousing, distribution, logistics, or FMCG environments
• Strong people leadership skills with the ability to delegate effectively and drive team performance
• Experience working within food safety, audit, or highly regulated operational environments
• Strong understanding of warehouse systems, KPI reporting, and inventory management
• Confident using WMS systems along with Excel and other computer systems
• A proactive and solutions-focused leadership style

Experience within food manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG operations will be highly advantageous.

This role is initially based in Waikouaiti before transitioning to a new Dunedin site in early 2027.
