Supervisor Engineering (NPD)

Location: Amata City Rayong, Thailand

Job Purpose:
The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for managing NPD engineers, coordinating cross-functional project execution, driving engineering qualification activities, and ensuring smooth transition from development to mass production. This role provides both technical leadership and project management oversight while continuously improving the NPI process.

Key Accountabilities:

Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) Projects

• Oversee all NPD projects from customer design transfer through engineering qualification, validation, and production release.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet customer requirements.

Supervise and Develop NPD Engineering Team

• Lead, coach, and develop NPD Engineers.
• Assign project priorities, monitor workload, and ensure effective execution.
• Build technical capability and project management competency within the team.

Drive Cross-functional Project Management

• Cooperate activities among Design Engineering, Sale, Manufacturing, Quality, LG and Supply Chain, Purchasing, and external suppliers.
• Act as the primary engineering focal point for project status, risk management, and issue resolution.

Establish and Improve NPD Systems

• Develop and continuously improve NPI processes, Engineering Qualification Plans (EQP), documentation standards, and project management methodologies.
• Standardize best practices to improve project execution efficiency.

Technical Leadership

• Review product designs, tooling concepts, manufacturing processes, validation plans, DFM/PFMEA, PMCP, risk assessments, and engineering changes
• Ensure manufacturability, reliability, quality, and cost objectives are achieved

Customer and Global Engineering Interface

• Collaborate with customers and Donaldson Disk Drive Filtration engineering teams on new product development, technical reviews, and qualification activities
• Lead technical discussions during customer visits, design reviews, and project meetings.

Engineering Qualification & Product Release

• Ensure Engineering Qualification Plans (EQP), prototype builds, validation testing, First Article (FA), and product release activities are completed according to company and customer requirements.

Project Risk & Resource Management

• Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation plans.
• Manage engineering resources to support multiple concurrent projects while maintaining project priorities.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to NPI cycle time, engineering productivity, project management, and manufacturing readiness.

Compliance

• Support ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF16949, ISO 14644 (clean room), safety requirements, customer-specific requirements, and company policies.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Engineering Manager

Requirements:
Education Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree is an advantage.

• PFMEA.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project Management software

Relevant Experience:

• 7–10 years of engineering experience in manufacturing and minimum 3 years leading NPD/NPI.
• Experience in HDD, electronics, semiconductor, medical devices, automotive, or other manufacturing in clean room environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects.

Others:

• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF16949 (preferred).
