Supervisor, Ramp Operations

Responsibilities

• Ensure and/or monitor the day-to-day ramp handling performance of GHA at HKIA.
• Check load sheet performance on a daily basis and rectify anomalies with GHA.
• Monitor the disembarkation/embarkation of passengers, the unloading/loading of baggage/cargo, and the ramp activities conducted by external service providers involved in the aircraft turnaround.
• Monitor the Ground Operations function to ensure that safety and security requirements are fulfilled throughout the entire operational chain applicable at Hong Kong and out-stations.
• Check that ramp handling duties are performed in accordance with SOPs and instructions.
• Liaise with related service providers to ensure ramp safety and PTS are maintained.
• Report ramp incidents to all parties/departments concerned.
• Conduct spot checks on load sheets at the aircraft side before flights depart.
• Liaise with GHA for special handling in weight & balance and load sheets.
• Check LDM on a daily basis and rectify anomalies with GHA.
• Perform loadmaster duties as and when necessary.
• Provide load sheet training to GHA staff.
• Conduct station audits on ramp handling and load sheet proficiency.
• Prepare a Daily Report to summarize ramp handling performance and highlight irregularities.
• Follow up with GHA on the reasons for and preventive actions against delayed departures due to ramp handling irregularities.
• Be qualified to perform DG handling and/or to ensure and monitor the DG qualification of GHA staff.
• Train and supervise operational staff.
• Be responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and company requirements, ensuring the safety and security of the operation.
• Be responsible for identifying and reporting safety and security hazards and occurrences in accordance with the company's reporting procedures.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of aviation experience.
• Post-secondary education or above.
• Good command of English. Native English or other language speakers are welcome. Candidates with proficiency in written and spoken Chinese will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Able to work independently.
• Good understanding of the regulatory authority setup and workflows in the PRC.
• Holder of a Hong Kong Driving License Class 1 and Class 2.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Officer, Ramp Operations.
