Supervisor/Assistant Manager - System Engineer

About the role

The Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting, operating, maintaining, and continuously improving the Company's IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, efficient, and compliant technology services. The role covers the administration, monitoring, maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, and operational support of servers, operating systems, virtualization platforms, storage, backup solutions, monitoring tools, Microsoft 365 related infrastructure, network connectivity, and assigned cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Support, monitor, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, operating systems, virtualization platforms, storage, backup, monitoring tools, Microsoft 365 related infrastructure, and standard system services
• Perform installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, patching, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, incident coordination, and daily operational support to ensure system availability, stability, security, and compliance with agreed service levels
• Support assigned Azure cloud services where applicable
• Support network operations and connectivity services, including LAN, WAN, wireless, coordination, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident coordination, and vendor follow-up
• Maintain reliable and secure network services by supporting service availability, issue resolution, capacity monitoring, and operational documentation
• Support backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery activities for company IT systems
• Monitor backup status, support recovery testing, maintain recovery documentation, follow up on backup or recovery issues, and coordinate recovery activities in accordance with defined procedures, recovery objectives, and service continuity requirements
• Support Azure-related backup or recovery activities where applicable
• Support IT governance, security, compliance, and operational control activities by following company policies, procedures, standards, baselines, and guidelines
• Assist with change management, asset and configuration management, audit evidence preparation, vulnerability remediation follow-up, operational documentation, and continuous improvement of infrastructure support processes

About U

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.

• Age must not be over 40 years old.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure operations, systems administration, or related technical support functions, with demonstrated ability to independently coordinate infrastructure operations, incidents, vendors, and technical activities..

• Hands-on experience in administering and supporting enterprise servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backup and recovery solutions, monitoring tools, patch management, and daily infrastructure operations.

• Knowledge of Windows Server, Linux operating systems, virtualization platforms, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 related services, and common infrastructure management tools.

• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools, PowerShell scripting, operational reporting, or DevOps practices would be an advantage.

• Basic knowledge or hands-on exposure to Microsoft Azure cloud services, such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor, Microsoft Entra ID, or cloud connectivity, would be an advantage.

• Experience with VMware, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, backup solutions, monitoring tools, endpoint management tools, or IT asset management tools would be an advantage.

• Understanding of IT service management, change management, incident management, problem management, vendor coordination, and operational documentation.

• Good analytical, troubleshooting, communication, coordination, and service-oriented skills.

• Good command of spoken and written English for technical communication, documentation, vendor coordination, and user support.

• Experience in the life insurance, financial services, or regulated industry environment would be an advantage.

• Relevant certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, VMware, Linux, CompTIA Security+, or other infrastructure/security certifications would be an advantage.
