What they need

The Supplier Escort & Junior Engineer is a day‑to‑day companion for external suppliers on site, with a strong focus on work performed in laboratory environments. The role stays with the suppliers throughout their visit, from arrival to departure, ensuring that required documentation and approvals are prepared, that suppliers are safely guided around the site, and that all work is carried out in a safe and compliant manner. The role is responsible for making sure that suppliers follow all applicable safety rules, including laboratory safety, site rules and IT/security policies.

The role works closely with senior engineers, collaborating on simple repair jobs and planned maintenance while continuously learning and developing skills.

The position suits a technically interested, service‑minded person who is willing to learn and take on more responsibility over time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support internal stakeholders in the planning and coordination of supplier visits.
  • Prepare and handle visit-related documentation (e.g. access, safety briefings, basic risk information).
  • Welcome, register and introduce suppliers to site and laboratory rules.
  • Escort suppliers throughout the day to and from laboratories and technical areas and act as main day‑to‑day contact.
  • Monitor supplier activities to ensure compliance with all safety rules, including lab, site and IT/security policies, and correct use of PPE.
  • Coordinate with laboratory staff to minimize disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Assist suppliers with lifts and other physical handling of equipment, in line with local health and safety limits and guidelines.
  • Document visits and any incidents or deviations in relevant systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of ways of working related to supplier visits and lab work oversight.
  • Work in accordance with company safety, environmental and quality standards (including GxP/GMP where applicable).

Additional Tasks

  • Work alongside senior engineers in day‑to‑day technical activities, providing support and learning on the job.
  • Perform simple repair jobs, basic troubleshooting and planned maintenance tasks on equipment according to instructions.

Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities of this job at any time.

Critical Skills:

  • Ability to organize the daily flow of visits and tasks and adapt to changes at short notice.
  • Strong focus on safety, compliance and risk awareness in a laboratory and IT/security environment.
  • Good communication skills and confidence in giving clear instructions and safety briefings.
  • Basic technical understanding and a practical, hands‑on mindset for simple repairs, maintenance and physical tasks.
  • Strong collaboration skills with many stakeholders (suppliers, lab staff, engineers, EHS, security, IT).
  • Service‑minded attitude and professional behavior towards both internal and external partners.
  • Willingness to learn, develop new skills and take on more responsibility over time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Secondary education (high school or equivalent).
  • Experience from a laboratory, technical, facility, production or similarly regulated environment.
  • Basic experience with administrative tasks and documentation.
  • Basic computer skills and experience working with standard IT systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post‑secondary education in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, laboratory science, technical maintenance) is an advantage.
  • Experience working with external suppliers, contractors or service partners. Experience with simple technical maintenance or repair work.
  • Experience from a GxP/GMP or other regulated environment. Familiarity with risk assessments, safety routines and work permits.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish.
