Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer to join TACHI-S Automotive Seating (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Bang Na, Bangkok. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our supplier network. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for managing supplier performance, implementing quality initiatives, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. This role is essential to our operations, as it directly impacts the quality of components we deliver to our automotive manufacturing partners. You will work on-site in Bangkok, collaborating closely with suppliers, internal teams, and management to drive continuous improvement and excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
• Develop and implement supplier quality improvement plans and corrective action requests (CARs) to address identified issues
• Monitor and analyse supplier quality metrics, defect rates, and performance trends to identify areas for enhancement
• Collaborate with suppliers to establish quality agreements, process controls, and documentation requirements
• Perform incoming inspection activities and quality control checks on supplier-delivered materials and components
• Investigate quality issues, non-conformances, and failures, determining root causes and implementing preventative measures
• Support supplier qualification and new product introduction (NPI) activities to ensure quality readiness
• Maintain comprehensive quality records, documentation, and traceability systems for supplier materials and components
• Liaise between suppliers, production teams, and management to communicate quality requirements and resolve quality-related concerns
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of quality standards and procedures

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related discipline) or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality, quality assurance, or quality control within the automotive or manufacturing industry
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, and automotive industry standards
• Proficiency in quality control tools and methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and root cause analysis
• Experience with supplier auditing, supplier development, and supplier relationship management
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong communication skills in English and Thai; additional languages are advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and quality management software systems
• Attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of automotive seating components and manufacturing processes is desirable
