Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)

About the role

Support supplier quality management activities for HLA-related parts and processes, working with suppliers on quality requirements for various commodities including machining, sheet metal, surface treatment, coating, plating, anodizing, and finishing parts.

Key responsibilities

• Support supplier quality management activities for High Level Assembly (HLA) related parts and processes.
• Work with suppliers on quality requirements for various commodities for example machining, sheet metal, surface treatment, coating, plating, anodizing, and finishing parts.
• Review supplier quality issues and coordinate containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and follow-up closure.
• Support supplier inspection, first article review, and incoming quality improvement activities internal requirements.
• Work with suppliers to improve quality performance, delivery quality, and process consistency.
• Support supplier audits, supplier assessments, and supplier development activities when required.
• Support customer complaint investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action, and follow-up closure.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Buyer/Planner, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues.
• Support customer quality concerns related to supplier parts and work with suppliers on corrective action response.
• Maintain supplier quality records, non-conformance reports, corrective action reports, and improvement tracking.
• Perform other supplier quality-related duties assigned by the superior.

Requirement

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• 3 to 5 years of working experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or process quality
• Able to read engineering drawings, GD&T, BOM, specifications, and inspection requirements
• Basic understanding of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, NCR, CAR, FAI, and supplier audit
• Able to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments
• Experience in machining, sheet metal fabrication, surface treatment, coating, plating, anodizing, or finishing processes will be an advantage
• Experience in semiconductor equipment, box build, HLA, precision engineering, or contract manufacturing will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality system requirements will be an advantage
