We are currently looking to recruit skilled, passionate and adaptable Supply Academic Tutors to join our dedicated educational team.

As a Supply Academic Tutor, you will play an important role in ensuring continuity of education when a learner's regular tutor is unavailable. You will deliver engaging, tailored academic sessions that build on each learner's existing progress, helping them maintain momentum, develop their skills and work towards their individual learning goals.

We are seeking tutors who are academically strong, patient, understanding and confident in supporting learners with a diverse range of educational, emotional and behavioural needs. The ability to build positive relationships, adapt teaching approaches and create a safe, encouraging learning environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions delivered in learners home or in the community with the ability to tutor core academic subjects, including mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies
• Adapt instructional methods to meet individual student needs, including those requiring special education support
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust tutoring strategies accordingly to maximise learning outcomes
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators to track progress and address any concerns
• Create engaging lesson plans and learning activities that motivate students and reinforce key concepts
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student performance, and areas for improvement
• Support students in developing study skills, organizational strategies, and confidence in their academic abilities

Skills

• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching
• Strong communication skills to clearly explain concepts and foster positive relationships with students
• Experience working with children and understanding of diverse learning styles
• Knowledge of special education practices and accommodations for students with learning differences
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs and promote active engagement
• Enthusiastic attitude with a commitment to helping students succeed academically
• Excellent organisational skills for tracking student progress and managing session plans

This is a self employed position

A DBS certificate registered with the Update Service and appropriate business insurance are desirable but not essential requirements for this role.

Pay: £25.00-£30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2.5 – 20.0 per week
