About the role
This role encompasses procurement and sourcing, logistics and customs compliance, inventory control and warehouse operations, and cross-functional alignment across supply chain functions. You will process purchase requisitions and purchase orders, monitor supplier delivery schedules, negotiate with vendors, plan and coordinate freight shipments, manage customs clearance, monitor inventory levels, and utilize ERP systems to maintain accurate data and generate operational reports.
Key responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions (PRs) and issue purchase orders (POs) for raw materials, spare parts, consumables, and factory services.
- Monitor supplier delivery schedules to ensure on-time delivery (OTD) and prevent production bottlenecks or stockouts.
- Negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and delivery terms (e.g., Incoterms) with key vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance continuously based on quality, lead time, pricing competitiveness, and service reliability.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee inbound and outbound freight shipments via ocean, air, and land transportation.
- Collaborate closely with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics service providers to secure optimal freight rates and shipping space.
- Prepare and verify complete shipping documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading (B/L), Air Waybills (AWB), and Certificates of Origin (COO).
- Manage customs clearance processes, ensuring full compliance with local import/export regulations, HS codes, tariff duties, and tax exemption schemes.
- Monitor inventory levels across raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to maintain optimal safety stock.
- Reconcile physical inventory counts against ERP system records and conduct periodic cycle counts or annual audits.
About you
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or inventory management (preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment).
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SQL ERP) and Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- In-depth understanding of international trade terms (Incoterms 2020), export documentation, and local customs clearance processes.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage international vendor and cross-departmental relationships.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a practical, proactive approach to resolving operational bottlenecks.
