Supply Chain Management Director

About the role

Develop and drive strategic and tactical execution of supply chain activities through effective teaming with the internal management and other supply chain functional groups. Supply chain activities include product forecasting and planning, procurement, inventory management, and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and understand industry best in class supply chain practices and, as appropriate, implement these or appropriate versions of these practices in Supply Chains.
• Provide input to the General Manager of the optimal organizational strategy and structure that will maximize group performance at minimal cost.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Operations Department and with teams at corporate unit, clearly understanding their business goals, challenges and initiatives and operationalize these into an executable framework.
• Develop a world-class supply base for products and services that meet quality, service to maximize profit. Periodically evaluate potential new suppliers that could add capability to the existing supply base or replace suppliers that are not performing up to expectations.
• Drive continuous operational improvement, through process improvement, ensuring cost effectiveness in supply chain management.
• Provide day to day Business Management support to the Operations. Manage weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and communication to the Executive Management and teams.
• Responsible for the indirect leadership and direction to large outsourced teams across a number of organizations.
• Responsible for performance evaluations and career development guidance of all team members on a day to day and long term basis.
• Responsible for resource planning and execution in order to meet group short and long term goals and objectives.

About you

• At least Bachelors Degree / MBA or any related field
• At least 8 years of demonstrated work experience in supply chain and/or logistics management within a multinational organization.
• Extensive experience in supply chain operations including, forecasting and planning, procurement, warehousing operations.
• Demonstrated ability to think and lead strategically within Supply Chain area.
• Proficiency in English and Computer literacy
