About RES Success
RES Success is a person-centered organization providing day program services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to create an environment that promotes dignity, respect, independence, and opportunities for each person to pursue their intellectual and creative goals, dreams, and aspirations.
About the Position
We are seeking a collaborative, organized Support Coordinator I to help the people we serve develop plans that reflect their goals, preferences, and support needs.
You will work closely with the people we serve, Program Managers, Direct Support Professionals, case managers, and other members of each person’s circle of support. You will provide guidance on the program floor, facilitate meetings and training, and help teams resolve challenges using a person-centered approach.
This position has no direct reports but provides on-floor guidance and shares staff performance feedback with management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Individual Support Plans and related documents that reflect each person’s goals, preferences, and desired supports.
- Facilitate planning meetings with the people we serve, case managers, and their circles of support.
- Collaborate with program teams to adjust activities, schedules, and services as needs change.
- Check in with the people we serve and staff to identify concerns and opportunities to improve support.
- Facilitate team discussions, brainstorm solutions, and bring concerns requiring additional support to the Director of Supports & Services.
- Observe service delivery, model professional conduct, and provide guidance and feedback to DSPs.
- Contribute observations to staff evaluations and assist management with addressing concerns you directly observed.
- Participate in intake tours and meetings to help identify appropriate program environments.
- Facilitate Open Future Learning trainings and discussions about key support concepts.
- Prepare case notes and Special Incident Reports as appropriate, participate in prevention planning, and review incident reports after training.
- Serve as a liaison with Regional Center case managers and Community Care Licensing as needed.
- Complete other related projects and administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A BA/BS in a health or human services-related field and at least one year of social services experience, preferably supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; or
- At least two years of experience supporting people in the intellectual and developmental disabilities community in place of the degree. Three or more years is preferred.
Skills for Success
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Comfort facilitating meetings, speaking to groups, and summarizing information from multiple sources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe PDF, and Google Workspace, or the ability to learn these tools.
- Sound judgment, flexibility, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to confidentiality, dignity, respect, and each person’s autonomy.
Knowledge of Regional Center requirements, Community Care Licensing, California Title 17 and Title 22, the Lanterman Act, mandated reporting, and quality assurance standards is preferred.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and meet applicable licensing, clearance, screening, training, and agency compliance requirements. Current First Aid certification is required; RES Success will arrange training if needed.
