About Kinetic
Kinetic designs, manufactures sells and supports industry leading CNC Laser, Plasma, and Drilling/Tapping machines for processing metal plate. It is a medium sized, Kiwi owned and operated company where the head office and workshop is located on Auckland’s North Shore.
The software used to run our machines is developed entirely in-house, as is the software used to program our machines. This, along with the relatively small size of the company, enables Kinetic to be very innovative and agile.
Technical Support Engineer Role
Kinetics’ Technical Support team focuses onthe service, support, installation and retrofits of profiling machines and anything else that customers need help with. Support Engineers provide online, phone and email support with a high level of technical competency. Guiding customers through troubleshooting and repair or upgrades to existing machines. We also deploy the CNC software used to program the machine, produce technical documentation, and perform hands on commissioning of the machines in the factory. National and International travel opportunities are available provided the engineer has proficient level of hands-on skills. Frequently engineers need to deal with the implementation of new equipment and systems, which requires both academic abilities and hands on skills.
All four aspects of mechatronics are present in the role: mechanical, electrical, computing and control systems. Technical Support Engineers work closely with the mechanical design and software departments on design changes, feature requests, troubleshooting program behaviour and bug reports. Interaction with the sales department and the workshop are frequent, giving Engineers a well-rounded experience of company operations.
This role could be suitable for a new graduate, or an engineer who has other work experience since graduating.
If you enjoy being challenged and your strengths lie in troubleshooting and the rapid familiarisation of electromechanical systems, contact us today to further discuss the role. This could lead to a visit to the factory to better understand the nature of the company.
This is a permanent full-time position, based on Auckland's North Shore.
