Support Engineer

Role:

Provide L1 production support for Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift and AWS environments in a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters, pods, nodes, services and application workloads.

Perform basic troubleshooting using kubectl, oc and Linux commands.

Monitor and support AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, EBS and CloudWatch.

Analyze alerts, logs, CPU/memory/disk utilization and basic connectivity issues.

Perform approved restart/recovery activities as per SOPs/runbooks.

Log and manage incidents through ServiceNow/ITSM tools and ensure SLA adherence.

Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams with proper diagnostic details.

Maintain shift handovers, operational documentation and follow security/change-management processes.

Must Have:

Hands-on exposure to Kubernetes & OpenShift.

Working knowledge of AWS Cloud.

Good Linux/RHEL troubleshooting skills.

Understanding of containers, pods, deployments, services and networking basics.

Monitoring and incident management experience.

Willingness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts.

Good to Have: AWS / Red Hat / Kubernetes certification, Docker, Grafana/Prometheus, Jenkins and basic scripting.
