Support Staff

Position Type: Internship in exchange for Room & Board as detailed below

Term: September through December, with the potential to continue through May based on organizational needs, performance, and mutual agreement.

Position Overview

Crestfield Camp and Conference Center is seeking servant hearted individuals who desire hands-on experience in camp ministry. This position provides an opportunity to learn every aspect of camp operations while serving retreat guests, churches, community organizations, volunteers, and campers.

Support Staff members will gain practical ministry experience while working alongside experienced leaders in a Christ centered environment.

Responsibilities

Support staff is expected to work up to 80 hours per month in exchange for housing described above. Any hours requested beyond 80 must be approved in advance by the Board of Directors or designee and will be paid at the rate of $10 per hour. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Attending scheduled staff meetings and reporting
• Assisting with housekeeping and guest room preparation
• Supporting kitchen and dining hall operations
• Assisting with building and grounds maintenance
• Helping facilitate recreation, activities, and camp programming
• Welcoming guests and providing excellent hospitality
• Assisting with worship services, chapels, and ministry opportunities
• Setting up and tearing down meeting spaces
• Supporting retreat groups and special events
• Tracking hours worked and reporting on maintenance
• Completing other duties as assigned by the Camp Management Team

Housing

• Live on site in camp housing. Support Staff will reside in a dorm style room located above the dining hall with shared restroom facilities.
• Room and board are provided, including: a furnished bedroom, meals while dining services are operating, basic internet access, utilities, and access to laundry facilities.

Support Staff may maintain offsite part time employment to supplement personal income, provided outside employment does not interfere with assigned responsibilities or scheduled camp activities.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

• Demonstrate a positive attitude and a servant’s heart
• Be willing to learn all areas of camp ministry
• Work well independently and as part of a team
• Be dependable, flexible, and teachable
• Be physically capable of performing active work, including lifting, standing, walking, and working indoors and outdoors
• Be available to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed. Weekend availability is required.
• Possess or be able to obtain all PA-state required child protection clearances and successfully pass all required background checks.
• Obtain Servsafe “safe food handler”

Supervision

This position reports directly to the Crestfield Board of Directors, or Designee.

Pay: $12.39 - $14.96 per hour
