Job Title: Support Worker

Location: Tuggeranong

About the Role: As a support worker, you'll play a crucial role in providing care and assistance to our school aged children who require additional support from a rare genetic disorder. Your role will involve offering companionship, assisting with daily activities, personal care tasks, limited light domestic duties and ensuring the children's comfort and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Assisting with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Supporting with meal preparation and feeding
• Accompanying to social outings
• Engaging in meaningful activities and hobbies together
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment

Qualities We're Looking For: We're seeking someone with empathy, patience, and kindness. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others and a positive attitude that brightens our children's day. Previous experience in caregiving or support work is preferred but not essential – what matters most is your willingness to learn and your dedication to making a difference.

This role would ideally suit a university student studying allied health, teaching, nursing; a mature person returning to the workforce or study or a parent wanting some casual shifts.

From November 2026 we will have morning and night shifts available, and then full days for fun, community support and therapy in the school holidays.

You are able to complete your study during an overnight shift around the children's needs.

Hours of work

During school term time shifts are:

• Mornings are 615am - 830am
• Afternoon   315pm- 7pm.
• Nights are waking shifts and run from10pm-530am

Weekends and school holidays as agreed, with many casual shifts available. We can accommodate changes to these times to support your other responsibilities.

Due to the hours you will need a drivers licence as public transport is limited.
