Support Worker - Aged Care

Permanent Part Time

The Support Worker provides flexible and person-centred care to people accessing aged care and disability services. They assist our most vulnerable community members to be independent and live in their own homes, in a way that understands, respects and facilitates individual interests, needs and preferences.

Key responsibilities:

Provide practical and physical support as needed for daily personal care and domestic duties, including assistance with:

• Daily hygiene routines and personal care
• Preparation and cooking of meals
• Assist with medications
• Provide social support, such as having a coffee, going shopping, buying groceries, attending appointments
• Domestic assistance with vacuuming, making beds and general household cleaning
• Provide encouragement and support to maintain independent living skills
• Encourage and support clients to understand their rights and responsibilities and to make informed decisions while maintaining the client’s dignity, integrity and confidentiality
• Complete reports and document incidents in accordance with CBS policies and procedures

What you bring:

• Certificate III in Individual Support
• Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or ability to obtain)
• A National Police Check that is no older than 3 months (or ability to obtain)
• Driver's licence and access to a reliable car
• First Aid and CPR certificate
