Support Worker

We specialise in home-based healthcare and support, and our clients are people with spinal cord injuries and high complex injuries. We are looking for new superstar support workers to join our vibrant and fun workplace where every day is genuinely different! 
 
The ideal candidate will: 

• Genuinely love working with people who need support and seeing them thrive.
• Be naturally empathetic and caring while able to maintain a professional focus and maintain boundaries.
• Have physical fitness and capability to do the job (including manual handling, personal cares, household management, food preparation and medication assistance).
• Have excellent people skills that enable the building of effective relationships across diverse groups.
• Works well under pressure and has the ability to multitask across functions and activities.
• Have experience supporting Spinal Cord Injury and/or Traumatic Brain Injury individuals
• Must be able to travel to and from client homes.
• Be eligible to work in New Zealand
• Mobility Hoist, manual handling proficiency
• Suprapubic Catheter Management
• Bowel Care Management
• Have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience and/or a Level 4 certificate in Health and Wellbeing or similar.

We are currently seeking multiple experienced support workers to fill permanent, full-time positions for a minimum of 30hrs per week, earning between $23.50 - $29.10 per hour

As a support worker at Care Upfront, you will be supporting our clients to stay healthy and well by:

• assisting with activities of daily living
• providing personal cares
• medication oversight
• transporting and accompanying clients to appointments and accessing the community
• preparing meals and grocery shopping
• assisting with household management
• sleepovers/ wake overs
• maintaining a safe environment
• working alongside therapists and other members of the clients support team

Our clients come from many different cultural backgrounds, some, where English is not their first language. Speaking a second language will be highly regarded.
