Support Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by offering support with daily activities and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Duties

• Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
• Help with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
• Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or social activities.
• Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
• Provide care for individuals with specific needs such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, hospice care, and other forms of senior care.
• Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
• Support clients with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring their safety during the process.

Experience

• Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with patient care practices, including first aid and medication administration.
• A background in caregiving or childcare can be beneficial for this role.
