Support Worker

We are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers for immediate full-time and part-time agency shifts in Galway and nearby areas.

Responsibilities :

• Provide high-quality support and care to individuals with diverse needs
• Promote independence, dignity, and inclusion in all aspects of daily life
• Implement person-centred care plans in line with HIQA standards and organisational policies
• Manage challenging behaviour with empathy and professionalism
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to team communication
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications :

• Relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a similar care environment
• Valid CPR and Patient Moving & Handling certificates (preferred)
• Full clean driving licence (required)
• Full right to work in Ireland (no sponsorship available)
• Garda vetting will be conducted upon application

Required Skills :

• Previous experience working in residential, nursing home, or hospital settings
• Previous experience supporting adults or children with intellectual and physical disabilities in a compassionate, person-centred environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A compassionate and person-centred approach to care
• Demonstrated ability to respond calmly and effectively to challenging situations
• A compassionate, person-centred, and professional approach to care

Preferred Skills :

• Previous experience working in residential, nursing home, or hospital settings
• Previous experience supporting adults or children with intellectual and physical disabilities in a compassionate, person-centred environment.
