This lady has been experiencing complex long-term disability, including autism, anxiety, depression and ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), and has recently moved to her own home.

Your role will be varied, as you will help her to stay organised in her home, undertake housekeeping, shopping, cooking and baking. As part of the role, there will be some intimate personal care duties involved.

You will help her to build her confidence, provide companionship and emotional support, share opportunities for fun (such as arts and crafts, trips out etc), enable her to join in local community activities and help with communications.

In this role, you would be part of a team working with other Support Workers, that are already in place, and be supported by both family and professionals. You would be working in Kesgrave and may take trips elsewhere.

What you will need

  • Level 3 care certificate or substantial relevant experience, including working with autistic people and be trauma informed.
  • A minimum 2 years recent experience of supporting people experiencing significant ill-health (employed or voluntary).
  • Ability to relate positively and establish good relationships with adults with autism and those who have complex disabilities, their family members and professionals.
  • Ability to organise self, work independently to plan tasks and successfully work with a team.
  • You must be able to drive, hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car.

What we will offer you

  • You will work in a small friendly team.
  • Training will be provided.
