Support Worker

Marcus and Marcus Ltd is specialist domiciliary care agency. We specialise in supporting people with Autism and are recognised by the National Autistic Society for our outstanding work in the field of Autism.

We are looking for caring, reliable and committed Support Workers to join our team and provide high-quality support to our service users.

Responsibilities:

As a Support Worker, you will support service users in a respectful, dignified and non-judgmental manner, helping them to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing person-centred support in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Supporting service users with personal care where required.
• Providing mental, emotional and social support.
• Supporting service users to access and participate in community activities, including adult education, social events and sports groups.
• Maintaining accurate and professional records, reports and other written documentation.
• Supporting the development, monitoring and updating of Individual Support Plans.
• Understanding that behaviours that may be considered challenging can be a form of communication of unmet needs, and contributing to appropriate support strategies.
• Undertaking supervised key worker duties where required.
• Attending and participating in reviews, staff meetings, project meetings and other relevant meetings.
• Participating in regular supervision and annual appraisals.
• Maintaining accurate records, including petty cash and report books where required.
• Working as part of a team to provide a consistent, stimulating and caring environment.
• Supporting service users in accordance with their individual needs, cultural background and preferences.
• Following all Health and Safety requirements and company policies.
• Maintaining the high standards of care and support expected by Marcus and Marcus Ltd.
• Being available to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and, where required, sleep-in or waking-night duties.

Contract & Working Hours

• Full-time: 35 hours per week
• Part-time: 20 hours per week
• We do not offer zero-hours contracts.
• Contracts will be offered as either full-time or part-time, depending on service requirements and the successful candidate's availability.
• Training will be provided, and training hours will be paid.

Essential Requirements

• UK driving licence is essential.
• A caring, patient and respectful approach to supporting others.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays when required.
• BSL qualification/certificate is required.
• Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Marcus and Marcus Ltd does not offer visa sponsorship.
