Support Worker – Brain Injury

Location: Manchester and surrounding areas
Pay: From £14 per hour, depending on the care package
Hours: Ad hoc – days, waking nights, sleep-ins and weekends

Amber Complex Care is a CQC-registered, Occupational Therapist-led care provider. We are recruiting support workers to support people living with acquired brain injuries (ABI), including traumatic brain injuries (TBI), across Manchester and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for reliable, patient and caring people who can promote independence while providing practical support with everyday life. You must be willing and able to provide personal care.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence support, while respecting dignity and privacy.
• Supporting daily routines, meal preparation and household tasks.
• Helping people attend appointments, enjoy activities and access their local community.
• Encouraging independence and supporting rehabilitation goals in line with individual care plans.
• Assisting with mobility and transfers where required, following appropriate training and moving and handling plans.
• Keeping accurate care records and reporting changes or concerns.
• Working closely with families, colleagues and other professionals.

What we are looking for

• Previous experience in care or support work.
• Experience supporting people with ABI/TBI is desirable.
• A patient, respectful approach and good communication skills.
• Willingness to provide personal care.
• Reliability and the ability to follow individual care plans.
• Ability to travel to agreed shifts across Manchester and surrounding areas.

Shifts and pay

This is an ad hoc role with no guaranteed weekly hours. Shifts are offered according to client needs and your availability, including cover for annual leave, sickness and occasional short-notice requirements.

Shift types include days, waking nights, sleep-ins and weekends. Please tell us which shifts you can work and the areas you can cover.

Day and waking-night shifts are paid from £14 per hour and upwards, depending on the care package. Sleep-in payment arrangements are confirmed separately. The location, hours and applicable pay will be confirmed before you accept a shift.
