Support Worker

Sentinel Community Services is seeking dedicated and reliable Support Workers to deliver personalised support to NDIS clients in their homes and the community. Successful applicants will demonstrate strong communication skills, sound professional judgement and a commitment to maintaining each client’s dignity, independence and choice.

About the Role

Your work will vary depending on each client’s needs and your skills and experience. It may include:

• Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing and grooming.
• Supporting clients with daily routines in Supported Independent Living.
• Helping clients participate in social activities and their local community.
• Providing respite support for carers.
• Assisting with medication within your training and role responsibilities.
• Transporting and accompanying clients to appointments, shopping and errands.
• Helping with meals, cleaning and other household tasks.

Some availability for night shifts is required. Please include your availability, including nights and weekends, in your application.

• Encourage clients to do what they can independently.
• Communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and the office.
• Follow support plans, keep accurate notes and promptly report concerns.
• Stay calm and adapt when a client’s needs or circumstances change.

Required Qualifications & Checks

• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Access to a clean, tidy and comprehensively insured vehicle.
